The Melissa and Doug train puzzle is a favorite in my home. It helps teach educational ideas in a fun way. Each letter has it's own car for the train. The child needs to learn alphabetical order in order to make the train pieces fit together. The lettered cars are filled with things beginning with that letter of the alphabet. For example. the A car is filled with apples. This is great for kids to not only learn their alphabet, but also to begin learning some basic phonics skills.
