I downloaded OpenOffice for the first time a couple of years ago. I couldn't afford to purchase MS Office and was looking for an alternative. I had been interested in a Sun ultra sparc computer and in looking at Sun's site, I found out about OpenOffice. This is a complete office suite and the interface is much the same as MS Office, which I now own and use as well. Probably my favorite feature is to be able to convert my work to PDF format.
