I have bought this phone several months ago, without a contract. I didn't want a generic IPhone, because apple products are substandard because apple employs a premium pricing strategy for their products so people to buy their stuff thinking that it's better because it's more expensive. Nokia one the other hand makes high quality products, which pick up a signal when all other brands show no bars. The n95 specifically has very attractive features including internal gps which doesn't rely on the network and works very well with garmin mobile, and wifi which allows you to use the internet for free...
