The Reynolds Vacumn Sealer is one of the handiest little kitchen gadgets ever invented.  It really works and helps keep food fresher for a long time.  The bags come in at least 2 sizes, gallon and quart, and are resonably priced in comparison to other bags of the same size.  They are also resealable so that you can use them over and over again depending on what you are using them for.  You could buy the sealer and a whole lot of bags before you even come close to the price of those high price sealers.  We bought ours on sale and have since bought another one - not because we had a problem...
