We gave our son these for his first birthday he is now 15 mo. and loves to play with them all day he stacks them and is able to take them apart also. We have had no problem with them standing on carpet and they hold together just fine. They have aided us in teaching colors and patterns as well as cause and effect. Our son is getting more for Christmas so he can continue to build bigger and better.
