I finally broke down and purchased what I thought would be the ultimate mattress: A tempurpedic deluxe Queen. The bed itself omits this horrible chemical odor and the pillows smell even worse. Within a few minutes of the bed's delivery I developed a headache! I was told by the sales rep that the noxious odor would vanish after airing out the mattress for a few hours. I left the mattress unclothed with multiple fans operating and plenty of fresh ventilation. I repeated this process for a few days each time I left the apartment. Still the odor, the headaches.
