This was given as a Christmas gift to me. Since I already have straight and thin hair, its objective for me is really to dry without blow-drying and frizz. It does this well, I wouldn't say its any quicker than a blow dryer but that could be because its a new tool for me. It does eliminate most of the frizz but I do miss the volume I would get from a blow drying. I do feel safer than a curling iron because of the plastic casing but my only fault with the design is there is no "stand" and i feel uneasy about just letting it balance on its side while warming to the correct temperature setting.
