Verizon rep sold me on this phone based on its rep for quality when compared to the Motorola Razr. I had been looking to purchase a Razr when my contract was up to get a new phone, but the rep said they had been getting a lot of Razrs back with problems, and not many of the LG VX8600 phones were coming back. I also liked that the phone has a bit more of a stylish look than the Razr w/ its sleek black style. However, if you don't keep the phone in a case, it's very prone to scratches and fingerprints... hence, mine is a bit sratched here and there with normal wear.
