Apple/Nike + iPod Sport Kit

I have had the iPod Sports kit, and it was intresting to say the least but I have to say that though it worked great when I had the iPod 2nd gen to which it worked with. When I upgraded to an iPod touch... it wasn't working for me any more. Other then that I had to spend $90.00 + for a pair of shose just to use it. If they could come up with some addaption that would work for any iPod out there (outside that of a shuffle) and maybe have the cencer work on any style of shoe... that would make me go back out and get a new kit.
