i bought this because i have four children and i love it. it is simple to use and the only thing i can complain about is the recording time of the dvds. I have used it to record my sons football games as well as the girlscheerleading. the touch screen makes the recording process much easier than the basic recorder. the sound on in recorder is pretty good and the quality of the videos is very good. i am not much of a technology person. i like things that are simple to use. quick when you need that impulse moment and also kid friendly.
