We bought this home multimedia player to work together with out Network Storage we had just recently gotten. We wanted to use this instead of every time when we want to watch a movie having to turn on one of our computers to access all our files on the network. Well, unfortunately for some reason the Iomega doesn't see anything else on the network unless you turn on everything at the same time (usually the network storage is always on).
