Mr. Coffee TF4 4-Cup Coffee Maker

It is only a 3 cup coffee maker - why is it advertised as 4 cups

I bought a Mr Coffee programable 4 cup coffee maker last week and after getting just 2 mugs of coffee I decided to measure the pot to see how much water it holds and it holds only 3 cups. This is very deceiving, I thought with it being a 4 cup maker I would be able to get 3 mugs of coffee, I get just 2 and can only get 3 tea cups out of it. I am very disappointed with it. It works fine but is not adquate for us.
