We bought the Nintendo DSi for our 11-yr old daughter for her birthday in June.  Let me tell  you it was one of the best things we've ever gotten her!  She has limits to how much she is allowed to play it, but when she does play it she is totally immersed and totally enjoying herself.  Our other two kids (8 and 5 yr old girls) love to play with it too.
