I don't enjoy science fiction usually, but this story transcends the medium. Although dystopic fiction is abundant in literature and often quite good, 1984 is the cream of the crop and is a book that will haunt you at the finish. Since it's release, many terms from 1984 have become common words and phrases that you can hear every night on the news or as criticisms of somebody or just as adjectives used to spruce up someone's commentary.
