There's a lot of Taylor haters in PA because it's the home of Martin Guitars. I'll be the first to say that the best Martin has nothing--nothing-- on a 7 or 8 series Taylor. While I play an 8 series, I tried out several 710 and 714 Taylors before buying. I actually prefer the sound of a 7 series over my 8 series because of the superior clarity and crispness of the higher strings. The lower register is very resonant-- not muddy sounding like many other guitars in need of new strings.
