    I read this book about a year ago. As soon as I started I couldnt put it down. I finished reading the book two hours after I begun. David Pelzer's story is very heartbreaking and really makes you open your eyes.  I still find myself woundering how a mother could be so hatefull to her child. (Any child for that matter) the abuse she put him through was unreal. David used his childhood as a tool in life, Instead of letting his childhood bring him down he chose to tell his story and grow strong as he did.
