Baby Einstein DVD's are great for some children.  My 10 month old will watch them for a few minutes, but he does not like to be still so his attention doesn't last much longer.  I have friends who's kids love the DVD's and friends whose kids want nothing to do with them.  I think they are a great item to try out.  However since every kid is different only buy 1 DVD first to see how your child will react.
