We discovered Cafe Magdalena when we went to Elgin to attend a Symphony concert at the Hemmens Auditorium which is only one block away. The restaurant has exceptional appetizers and salads at very low prices as well as interesting daily specials that are prepared with fresh ingredients and surpass much of the competition for Italian cuisine in the area.
