I took my nieces, 6 and 4 to see this movie. The 4 year old did get scared at some points where it gets a bit dark: I don't want to give anything away, but the younger ones may be a bit frightened. She also fell asleep halfway through, which I'm not surprised by because I did too. The 6 year old really liked it though, so I think it may be better for kindgergarten on up.
Dustin Hoffman as Mr. Magorium is wonderful, but Natalie Portman as Molly just bored me to tears. If only Jason Bates had a more active role, he may have brought some much needed life to the movie.
