My husband and I love the Boone, NC/Blowing Rock, NC area and decided on a long weekend getaway. Unfortunately, we didn't check the football schedule for Appalachian State and hadn't bothered to make a reservation as we've never had difficulty finding a room before. Well, surprise! No rooms available at any of our usual haunts. Someone at one of those establishments was kind enough to call the Days Inn and secure a room for us.
