avid reader, a library-goer, a parent, a music lover, appreciate nice things
I remember reading this book as a child. I loved it then, mainly for the wild pictures. I thought the monsters were so cool looking. Now, as a parent, I love the book for the story itself (well, the pictures are still pretty good). It does teach a little moral lesson. But my boys love it. It was one of the first books I bought for them, and they have read it several times. Now my little girls enjoy it. My youngest, who is 3 years old, thinks of it as a great adventure and has asked for it to be read quite a few times lately.
