Built a house in 1984, and put in a Jenn-air electric oven/stove, with the venting fan between the burners.  There is no overhead venting to this oven.The center filter comes out very easy ,and to clean it , you run hot water over the filter, for a few seconds. About 3 times a year I clean it very well with a little dish soap, and a mild brushing. The burners come completely out, for easy cleaning.  This is the best appliance I ever bought.
