Hi Friend! If there is purple in the leaf, I'm quite certain it's not a hosta. You may find red flecks on some of the leaf or flower stems, but not in the leaves. My Birds and Blooms subscription expired, so I can't see the plant. I might try contacting the magazine for the name of the plant, and I usually Google everything I'm looking for. An eBay search may bring you success. I've purchased many of my hostas from there! Let me know what it is when you find out. I'm really interested in reds and purples myself, and if it looks like a hosta, I'm sure I'd like it! Best!
