I bought the Bissel Little Green Pet portable steam cleaner for spot cleaning pet messes and it works great. It came with a solution designed for pet messes but works just as well with the regular solution.  This model came with an attachment that has a spinning brush -- great for getting those deep down spots. There are 2 other attachments, great for upholstery and corners.  The machine's portable size does not take away from it's cleaning power and it did a good job on my heavily soiled stairs.

 Since this is a small unit, it lacks a fan powerful enough to help dry the carpets like larger...
