Delta was our #1 airline choice for many years then around 2002-3 they just stopped caring. We were both flying colonels and went from 200k+ miles a year to under 20k. Basically, we could fly on better airlines for far less money and be treated far better than with Delta. The final straw was when we did a vacation and flew back from Honolulu to Portland and they cancelled our confirmed seats and seated me in the back of the airplane and my wife with our 1 year old in the front....didn't make for a pleasant flight. Of course we both had middle seats making it impossible to switch with another flyer....
