We received a graco digital baby monitor as a gift and it has never worked properly.  This item picks up interference from everything and when it picks up interference it beeps until it finds its signal again.  I have woken up way too many times to a beeping baby monitor, unable to hear if my baby is awake or not.  I wouldn't purchase this monitor and am currently expecting and planning on buying a new monitor for the second baby.  This thing will go in the trash.  On a positive note, it I can carry the portable monitor quite a distance, across the street for example, and still get a signal...
