I tried this product after having used pencils, including the Almay one in this same product family, and could not believe the difference.  No tugging, no skipping, the color goes on effortlessly, and the brown brings out the blue in my eyes wonderfully! 

You do have to be conscious of how much you are using.  I find it helpful to wipe the excess off both sides of the brush on the inside edges of the bottle before applying.  I also use a Q-tip to smudge the lines if I'm not going for a dramatic look.
