The Children of Hurin, recently released by Christopher Tolkien, is not at all disappointing.
It's plot moves quickly, it's tale is well told. The characters are flawed, lovable and, although they live in a fantasy world, quite realistic. Their motives and reactions are believable, though often sad. The sacrifices some of the characters make are sacrifices the audience will wish it was capable of mirroring. Although the story is sad, it is well worth hurting for.
