I have been with American Express for over 12 years and spend over $200,000 every year. I have 3 cards with them and have paid on time either the minimum or over every month. Never missed a payment. As I was ready to go on vacation, I paid them the exact amount, 10 days or more prior to their due date. I went in to charge more on my gold card that has no limit and it was rejected.
