We have always used Advantix on our Min-pin because we drive a truck cross country and it works great especially since we walk our dog in all types of terrain.  We were actually warned by a DOT Officer in Missouri one year that it was a bad year for ticks.  Well we had to walk our dog and we did see ticks but Dobie (our dog) never got any.  Now we buy enough every 6 months for our two dogs, my moms two dogs and my brothers dog-all of which roam around in the woods. 

  We have tried other products, which I am sure work for some people, but Advantix works best for our family.
