I bought the Furminator after hearing so many people giving recommendations for it.  I think it is awfully expensive for what it is, so I took off a star.  I kept it at three stars because I personally haven't found a brush that works as well for my large breed dog.  I use it about once a week and it has greatly reduced the amount of sweeping I've had to do since I don't have carpet.  My dog sheds a lot and he doesn't seem to mind the brush that much.  It removes lots of hair but I find with my dog that I have to brush for a while because it doesn't take much out at once.  It may be quicker...
