AT&T 5.8 GHz phone system with a second handset does the job.  It is not incredible, and I probably would not buy the same phone again, but it does the job.  There is a signficant sound problem -- something like an echo -- which may be the fault of my landline service provider, but we have a package which includes cable TV, internet and phone, so we are probably going to stick with it.

The phone feels good in my hand.  The display is good.  The built in answering sytem is fine.  It took only a couple of minutes to remove it from the box and set it up properly.
