I purchased a GPS Tom Tom 125 a couple of months ago.  This in the great invention ever.  The GPS are AWESOME, I never leave home without it anymore.  I purchased on of the least expensive models, but it has everything I have needed.  You can update the maps online.  It comes with the car charger, it will tell you any hotel, store, gas station or anything else you need nearby.  I think everyone who travels should purchase one.
