It's great for college students..  or high school, for that matter. It's a nice machine, very smart looking. It has features that are very helpful especially for the first-time userof Windows Vista. We were afraid that it wasn't working as it should.. only to find out that a minor purchase of extra memory card (less than $50) made all the difference. ( there was already a slot for the extra memory card).  I've wondered how many were discarded only because the owner wasn't aware that there was another empty slot for memory card! The manufactorer seemed to not make this known.
