Saturn SL1 - 1997

Great Economy Car

I have owned the 1997 Saturn SL 1 for over 4 years and have driven it in the Western US and Eastern US and find that it is overall a good car. Good gas mileage with mid 30's in town with the AC on and up to 50 mpg on the highway using regular gas (no alcohol) in warm weather. Cold weather and alcohol cuts the gas mileage considerably but never has been less than 30 mpg anywhere. It has a lot of room (4 door model) with the rear seats folded down. It is easy to work on although the oil filter is difficult to get to. Replacing the spark plugs is a simple job. The owners manual is written very well... read full review »
