We are converting our whole house to these new type of bulbs. They are supposed to be very efficient and use less energy. I suppose it is our immediate contribution to help fight high energy prices and global warming. It is a small step, but we feel that these bulbs, if used universally, will help reduce consumption of energy. As far as the bulb itself - it is bright! I caution any consumer to read the package directions as these bulbs are brighter than standard bulbs of the same wattage.
