Whirlpool Duet Grows Mold, why should I wash my clothes in it?

I feel like I've been scammed by Whirlpool. My Whirlpool Washer Duet and Dryer are 1 !/2 years old. Not too long after buying it, my towels always smelled mildewed. I tried bleach, and made sure to run a clean cycle after and then a white only wash before washing any colors, but guess what, my colors all have bleach spots! I thought I must have done something wrong, but from the reviews I see I'm not alone. I could live without using bleach, but the black mold around the front seal and the underside of the drum and the dispenser tray, and inside the drain hose, makes me feel sick and... read full review »
