    A cliched romance tale disguised as a fantasy story.

    Meyer's prose is decent, but her plot and character development are so atrocious that even the most brilliantly-worded sentences couldn't save them. Twilight's main character, Bella Swan, lacks any personality and gives the reader little motivation to like her. In fact, Bella's role in the novel seems to be solely that of "self-insert." Want to pretend you've got a hot vampire boyfriend? Just read Twilight and imagine you're the main character!

    Edward Cullen, Bella's love interest, does actually have a personality, but it's riddled with vampire cliches. This in itself isn't a problem -- what vampire...     review »
