This is a very good movie that tells about a college grad who is unsatisfied with society, his parents and the status quo. He decides to disappear (doesn't let his family know where he is), abandons his car and takes a few random jobs trying to find his way up to Alaska. Along the way he meets (several) different hippie-types, a 16 year old female musician, a young man who cuts wheat & tells him to 'not get too deep' into anti-society thoughts and an elderly widower (played by Hal Holbrook, the best part of the film).
