I researched a lot of digital cameras prior to purchasing the Sony Cyber-Shot - W80 (7.2 mega pixals).  I wanted a camera that allowed me (an amateur) to take professional pictures without a lot of hassles.  The camera is very user friendly.  It would be difficult to mess up any pictures.  You don't have to fumble through a combersome manual to learn how to use the camera.  lt has a steady shot feature to help alleviate those bIurry shots.  No more "red eye" with the red eye feature!!!  I was highly impressed with the battery life.  I have taken over 200 photos over a week/week in a half...
