I love your blog for 11/6. "Strangers here on earth. Citizens in Heaven."

I met my best friend of 11 years at the office but our friendship resulted in a different way. One day my car broke down and she offered to take me home. I was going to have to take about a week off work while my car was being worked on but she offered to provide transportation. During that week we exchanged phone numbers and began talking on the phone. A few weeks later I had a bad accident (not in car) and she took me to ER and then took me to her house. She opened her home to me so I could recover. She left me, basically a stranger in her world, in her home every day while she and her husband went to work. I asked her how she could do that. To just assume it was safe to leave me there with all her possessions. She said, "Because I had a feel for who you were and knew I could trust you." 11 years later she is my Duh-be-duh (nickname for Debbie) and there is nothing either of us wouldn't do for the other. I know her entire family and am with them all the time.

Sometimes the Lord works in mysterious ways and brings people into our lives for a moment, a season or a lifetime.

Since being at Viewpoints I have "met" some wonderful people and consider many of them "friends."
