Torajiro is my favorite sushi joint in Chicago. Its less expensive than most sushi places and they're serious about their fish. This place doesn't have fancy wooden walls or trendy art; you won't sit in designer chairs or have a wonderful view from your table. That said, you will get the most amazing cuts of sushi. The house chef is always the same guy [Peter] so every time you go in the meal is proper. The nigiri is consistently cut thicker than any other place in town and the appetizers are always elegant. Great Japanese beer and sake selections really make this place authentic....
