We switched our dogs over from Authority Chicken (pet smart brand) to Purina Pro plan shredded chicken.  The reason was quite simple, Pet Smart is 70 miles away, while a new Petco store is only 5 or 6.  These two dog foods are roughly comparable in price and ingredients, with Authority having a slight edge. 

 The dogs like the taste and have had no bad reactions to it.  There is a lot of marketing put into promoting ultra premium dog foods, just as much as promoting low quality dog food.  For low quality dog foods it is all about taste, for ultra premium it is all about ingredient.  The...
