Dodge Neon - 1996

A fuel efficent car with minor reliability issues

I actually have owned two Dodge Neons. I haven't owned the 1996 (don't know how to add a review without one already here, yet), but newer versions of the same model. I owned a 2002 model for 2 1/2 months before someone ran a stop sign and totaled it. The car is safe, because my girlfriend was not injured in a 45 mph crash. Both airbags deployed in the crash, even though the passenger seat was empty.

It was a very good car, got excellent mileage, but the insurance is high on it because it is often totalled in wrecks, and the high cost of repairs. The 2002 got 32 MPG highway.
