All right, all right, since you asked... it's my Facebook profile picture. I used it to symbolize the fact that I thought people were telling virtual strangers too much about their lives on the internet. On my blog and Facebook, I use royalty-free stock photography images. On the stock photography website (123rf.com) I typed in "invisible," and this was one of the images. I saw it as a genderless person who is neither speaking nor writing in the conventional sense (as symbolized by the torn page). That leaves electronic correspondence which people can hide behind and create any kind of persona they wish. I keep it as my profile picture because it's become a paradox now. People reading my reviews will know more about my personality than could be garnered from the usual banal information included in questionnaires or status updates.

So now everyone who has ever wanted to know why that is my profile picture will have to come find this profile comment on my Viewpoints page. That might be enough to get all of my friends and family to come join Viewpoints! (I get a lot of questions about it)
