I did a lot of research before deciding to purchase the Whirlpool Duet washer and dryer.  I comparison shopped at various big box stores for pricing and information, but I find the best advice usually comes from asking the salespeople the combo questions of "What would you buy if you could get a new washer/dryer?" and "Which set has the most equipment problems/Is repaired most frequently/expensively?"  The Duet is my first washer/dryer, and I had no idea the washer door must be open when it is not in use.  It's not a problem for me, but if you read one of the reviews below, you'll see what...
