We bought Kongs for our dog because he was exhibiting separation anxiety. We stuff them with peanut butter, cheese, treats and anything else that fits in there. For extra long lasting fun - we freeze it the night before so he has to take extra time to clean it out. He seems to have developed a method and it doesn't take him long at all. The best for us is that he's occupied when we leave the house, so he never sees us leave and associates us being gone with YUMMY things that he doesn't get unless we leave. These have saved our house and our sanity and prevented some serious desctructive behavior...
