I had a 1996 z3 and its the same as the 97. Loved it. Im 5'10" and fit comfortably with the top up or down. The plastic window folds with the top down and is to be used when the temperature is in excess of 55 degrees or YOU WILL crack the rear window. 4 cylinder is great on gas. Easily does 24 city / 26 highway. I was able to do my own oil and fitler changes, tune ups, brakes and fuel fitler. The point is Im not a mechanic but am handy.
