Kiku is an interesting restaurant and I'm glad it has survived. On a strange block for such a pretty and well designed restaurant, 9th avenue between 24 and 25 Streets, next to a combo Thai/Laundromat and a bodega and Dunkin Donuts... it's easy to walk by and dismiss it but the sushi is surprisingly good and the lunch menu is very affordable for such quality! The waitstaff is very nice, it's never too crowded, the bathrooms are also very pretty (good sign for a restaurant to have nice and well maintained washrooms!) Never smells fishy or wierd, definitely a nice date spot, and they are kid friendly...
