My Kenmore Electric Range (Series #790) does not function properly in the broil mode and I would not recommend it to anyone.  The door must be left open when broiling and the plumes of smoke fill the house.  No matter what I do, I cannot control the outpouring of smoke.  Further, there is difficulty with keeping the oven door open when broiling which is required and it is difficult to lock that way.  The slightest touch will close it.   I also think that it takes much longer than usual to preheat.   However, the cooktop surface is fine and I like the configuration of the burners.  I bought...
